Over the last nine years the Diploma course has
been run in several venues in the North and South of England and
in Jersey.
The Diploma can be run anywhere provided there
is suitable accommodation and 10-12 students with secured funding
for the course. If you could offer a venue please contact Ian Woodroffe.
The diploma course builds on basic counselling
skills to increase confidence and competence in counselling bereaved
people and gives participants a thorough understanding of the grief
process.
The course has a credit rating of 30 credits at
level two and 30 credits at level three by Greenwich University
and runs for eleven weekends or eleven sets of two midweek days
over the calendar year. Participants are expected to have completed
at least a foundation course in counselling before applying.
A large part of the course involves experiential
learning using video training. Initially students will counsel each
other in a dedicated room, with a video link through to other students. |

In the second part of the course you may have
the unique opportunity to work with bereaved clients as part of
your assessment.
You will learn in a small group (there is a maximum
number of 12 places per course) with well qualified tutors. The
course director, Ian Woodroffe is a BACP accredited counsellor and
supervisor with over 25 years experience in care of the dying, bereavement
and the transmission of trauma.
