WHAT THEY SAID

“As a BACP accredited counsellor I enrolled on the course as part of my CPD and found it to be invaluable in helping me to focus on areas of learning which needed attention and that have enhanced my practice considerably. The course is very well constructed with teaching on counselling and grief theories as well as a considerable amount of videoed skills practice. It was the skills practice which I found so helpful. It was also a very supportive group in which to learn and both teachers and learners enabled me to get the most I could from this exceptionally effective course.” 2007

“The Diploma Course is an amazing experience. Some of the time you really wonder what on earth you’re doing on it as it feels such a hard slog. But most of the time the learning is so immense it’s quite mind blowing”. 2007

“Before I started the Course I read in last year’s prospectus where someone else had written, “You’ll never be the same again” and I know now how true that is. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it before and I know I’m now a different person to the one I was in January”. 2007

“I feel very proud of myself for seeing the Course through, and I’ve learnt such a huge amount about people, the different ways bereavement counselling affects them, and the different ways people respond to different ways of bereavement counselling.” 2007

“A rigorous and challenging course that thoroughly grounds the student into the psychosocial world of the bereaved”. 2007

“A truly amazing experience. Thanks to Ian and Val for their time, patience and willingness to share their years of experience”. 2007

“This has been an invaluable year for me. It has fulfilled much of what I hoped to gain from the year – increased awareness of the grief models – better counselling skills, more understanding of my own limitations and how to work on them”. 2007

“This has been a life-changing course for me and helped me to build on the foundation I already had”. 2007

“It’s been an amazing year of growth for me. I have been challenged and stretched and I’ve grown in confidence. My gifts and skills have been affirmed and acknowledged and I could do it. ‘Rejoice Hallelujah”. 2006

“This has been an amazingly challenging, growth producing, knowledge building year. I feel very privileged to have been able to learn in this way. I believe I have learnt far more than more academic courses that don’t have the video work at the heart of them”. 2006

“A major and significant year for me. I have been ‘stuck’ for many years and this course has re-opened life and my perspective on life. I feel refreshed, invigorated and optimistic. Once again I feel I love people and life”. 2006

“I need a rest but I am sad to leave this year behind. I hope I can keep all that I have learnt with me. Also, I have been fascinated by the progressive interweaving of theory and practice. Written and presentation work has been so relevant and allowed consolidation and integration of theoretical input”. 2004

“A course that I would highly recommend to others. An experience of learning that I will never forget. A small course group has been beneficial to me”. 2003

“I have never attended a course where I have learnt so much throughout the course. Each month, I have come away with new ideas and theory etc. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course, and it has been a privilege to be part of the group. Thank you”. 2003

“I have very much enjoyed the academic content of the course and feel I have learned a great deal about theoretical models and good practice. The video work was quite daunting but was a great learning experience”. 2003

“This course has renewed my interest in my work. As the year has progressed, I have found it easier to read counselling theory books which I have had for some time but been unable to get into to. I have enjoyed it (the course) enormously”. 2003

“I have valued the way Ian has demonstrated person-centeredness throughout the course. The experience for me has been a sense of freedom to learn”. 2003

“Just to say thank you very much, for your help and support, and for sharing your experience and wealth of knowledge, and although it sounds ‘sickly’, for enabling me to change my life and self”. 2003

“I found this course to be an amazing journey of both self discovery and professional development. I have not regretted one minute of it, although at times it has been an incredible challenge and hard work. I genuinely feel a real sense of privilege to have been taught “. 2003

“This has been a hugely rewarding and life changing experience for me. I am able to approach colleagues and my work in a more confident manner”. 2003
