Supervision

As a BACP accredited Supervisor Ian has a growing supervision practice.

His portfolio of supervisees includes counsellors of young people, healthcare professionals, psychological support workers, social workers and hospice staff.

Supervision is about providing a space where creative reflective thinking can take place on the work of the supervisee.

Reflective thinking can examine ‘the process’, be aware of the dynamics and be mindful of the effect of the work on the supervisee.

As a result of the reflective time the work can be enhanced, the process be better understood and the supervisee can take care of himself/herself.
BACP guidelines require not less than 1.5 hours of supervision per month.

Supervision usually takes place in a dedicated consulting room in Swaffham Bulbeck (6miles Newmarket side of Cambridge-see "Where are we").

Charges are £40 per hour.

Before a supervision agreement is formed one free consultation is offered to enable both the Supervisor and the Supervisee to explore the working potential.
